Bio-remediation & Bio-mining of Old Municipal Dumpsites refers to the excavation of old dumped waste and make windrow of legacy waste thereafter stabilization of the waste through bio-remediation i.e. exposure of all the waste to air along with use of composting bio-cultures, i.e. Screening of the stabilized waste to recover all valuable resources (like organic fines, bricks, stones, plastics, metals, clothes, rags etc..) followed by its sustainable management through recycling, co-processing, road making etc. There is a need for Bio-Mining & Waste Processing for dumps which have reached their full capacity or those which will not receive additional waste. With Bio-mining remediation of old dump sites the reclaimed land can be used for fresh MSW waste processing units and if required for construction of sanitary landfills in compliance to SWM Rules 2016 & Swachh Bharat Mission.

KSWMP invited tenders on DBOOT for the remediation of 8 dumpsite vide their tender no.  REQUEST FOR BIDS NO: IN-SUCM-399856-CW-RFB dated January 2024. SMSL, Nagpur submitted the offer and was successful in securing the tender on 26.02-2024

He is a Chartered Accountant and having experience of working in industrial environment since 1980. He has traveled extensively around the globe and worked in India, Indonesia and Sri Lanka.Born in Jodhpur, India on 12th June 1956. Did his graduation (1976-79) from GCA, Ajmer and CA (1980) from Mumbai. He started career from Kalpataru, Mumbai, later shifted to Nagpur and worked for FACOR, Star Circlips and Coventry Springs till 1990. In 1990 he joined INDORAMA and got shifted to Indonesia. In 2001 after working for a brief period in Thailand and Sri Lanka returned India & decided to settle in Nagpur and after doing few ventures joined SMS Group to setup an Environment & Clean Energy Division.
